Birds of Elliot Sculpture Exhibit

Thursday, September 14, 2017, 05:00pm - 07:00pm

Artist Suzie Moulton has a special connection to the Elliott State Forest. A solo hike through these treasured public lands healed her broken spirit and gave her art new life. Inspired by the flora and fauna of the Elliott and her love for needle-felting and textiles, Suzie created Project Bird Baby Nest, an illustrated, family-oriented, memory board game that teaches bird identification. With the goal of connecting art and crafting communities with children's education and wildlife conservation groups, Suzie hopes to inspire people to learn more about birds native to the Elliott State Forest.

Please join us on Thursday, September 14 for a free Artist Reception from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Meet many of the 15 artists who created textile birds that will be used to create the children's matching game Bird Baby Nest: Elliott State Forest Edition.

There will be complimentary refreshments and an opportunity to purchase needle felting kits to create your own Elliott State Forest bird ornament.

During the months of September and October the Birds of Elliott State Forest Textile Sculpture Exhibit will be on view in our Interpretive Center.
