More than one million tons of food waste is generated annually in Washington, with about 35% being edible food going into landfills. Food waste is one of the greatest challenges of our time significantly impacting our environment, community and economy.

Join Clark County Green Neighbors to hear speakers from Clark County Food Bank, Urban Abundance and Clark County Food System Council. We’ll learn about how they get food into the hands that need it and subsequently prevent good food from being wasted.

Building Health Soils with Cover Crops

Join the Small Acreage Program for an online Zoom workshop where participants will learn about cover crops from Justin O’Dea – Regional Agricultural Specialist and Faculty at WSU Extension. Terry Koper, Program Coordinator says, “This workshop will be a great chance for folks to learn the benefits and methods for utilizing cover crops to build organic matter and biodiversity in their soils.”

This workshop is hosted by Small Acreage Program of WSU Clark County Extension, co-sponsored by Clark County Public Works Clean Water.
