Christmas Bird Count

Friday, December 29, 2017
Contact  Susan Setterberg (360) 980-0884

This is the 118th year that citizen science has gathered information on the winter bird populations throughout the United States. Contributing to this program provides valuable information for major decisions about land-use and conservation efforts based on bird population trends.

Teams will scour the woods and meadows from Vancouver Lowlands up through Ridgefield NWR to the Lewis River, mostly west of Interstate 5. Our circle also includes Sauvie Island and some of the Scappoose area if you are interested in doing the Oregon side of the river. We can use people of any level of birding expertise. If you are new to Christmas counts, we can pair you with someone more experienced.

Please contact Susan Setterberg with questions and to sign up to participate.
