Lyle Cherry Orchard Invasive Plant Removal
Join Friends Land Trust Stewardship Coordinator Sara Woods at the Lyle Cherry Orchard preserve to remove the invasive plant, yellow starthistle.
Yellow starthistle blooms around the summer solstice (hence its Latin name Centaurea solstitialis) which is also the best time to pull this invasive plant. We've been working at this patch for years, and have really begun to see improvements!
No experience is necessary and all tools will be provided. Please come dressed for the weather and wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes. Get ready to have fun!
*Hazards: Poison oak, ticks, steep terrain, heavy lifting, rattle snakes*
