It's Hip and Eco-Conscious!
This year's Recycled Arts Festival, presented by McCord's Vancouver Toyota, will take place on June 24 and June 25 at Esther Short Park in downtown Vancouver. Along with 150 artists showcasing their amazing, creative work there will be live music, food carts, crafts for kids, and the Sculpture Garden where guests can vote for their favorite piece of art. The CouveCycle will be on hand to offer free rides for families on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
On Sunday morning at 10am will be The Procession of the Species, a parade celebrating arts and the environment. This is a free event, open to all, that features masks and costumes representing species both real and imagined. A series of free workshops are being offered for people who want to make their masks from provided recycled materials as well as a full day of mask-making on site at the festival on Saturday.
Hours are 9 - 5 on Saturday and 10 - 4 on Sunday. A shuttle service will run from the Public Service Center parking garage on 13th and Franklin to help ease parking woes. Come and meet Toto who is joining the Tin Man for some festival fun!
