Resilient Recycler: Make Every Day Recycling Day
Block foam can be recycled for free at Waste Connections Central Transfer and Recycling Center (11034 NE 117th Ave, Vancouver). Simply drive into the Recycling Depot and empty your block foam into the designated box. Then, your foam will be taken to be recycled at Agilyx in Tigard, Oregon. It's super easy!
This collection is only for clean, dry, white block foam that snaps apart when bent, not the stretchy, colored or fabric foam materials.
For other #6 plastic materials, you can take them directly to Agilyx (7904 SW Hunziker Street, Tigard, OR 97223). This includes foam trays, take-out containers and coffee cup lids! For more information visit Agilyx FAQs.
Organizations may host occasional community shred events throughout the year. Check our events calendar for any upcoming shred events. Or, you can pay a small fee to get your documents shredded at one of various local shredding businesses. Search for "shredded paper" on RecyclingA-Z.com for listings of locations.
If in working condition, donate to Clark Public Utilities or The Clark County Habitat for Humanity Store. Clark Public Utilities will also pick up full-size fridge and freezers for free by contacting (360) 992-3000. You can drop off scrap metal for free at any of the Waste Connections transfer stations or other local recycling and scrap yards. Some businesses may even pay you for your scrap material. You can find listings at RecyclingA-Z.com.
Tires are accepted at the transfer stations and automotive shops for a small fee of $3-$10 per tire.
