Earth Day Pollinator Garden Planting

Saturday, April 21, 2018, 10:00am - 12:00pm

Join the City of Vancouver and the Greenway and Sensitive Land Team as we participate in the Million Pollinator Garden Challenge for Earth Day.

"The Million Pollinator Garden Challenge (MPGC) is a nationwide call to action to preserve and create gardens and landscapes that help revive the health of bees, butterflies, birds, bats and other pollinators across America. We will move millions of individuals, kids and families outdoors and make a connection between pollinators and the healthy food people eat."

Volunteers will expand an existing pollinator garden on the Burnt Bridge Creek Trail. This includes tilling soil, planting flower seeds, and adding a layer of topsoil to the garden. Training, gloves, tools, water, and snacks will be provided. This event is family friendly and volunteers of all ages are welcome to join. Volunteers should dress for the weather and wear long pants and closed-toe shoes.

Youth under 18 must bring a signed minor consent form and youth under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.

***The exact location of the garden and parking details will be emailed a few days prior to the event and is limited to 40 volunteers.***
