Kelly Point Park Bird Walk
Within this 104-acre riparian area, tall cottonwood groves invite neo-tropical migrants, the open water of the rivers host cormorants and waterfowl, grassy meadows and snowberry briars provide foraging spots for sparrows and goldfinches.
This free walk meets at the Northeast Portland Backyard Bird Shop (1419 N.E. Fremont Ave.) at 8:00 a.m. and then carpool to the start of the walk. The walk will last 2 - 3 hours. Advance reservations are required—we limit the number of participants to ensure that everyone has an enjoyable and educational experience. Some of our walks do fill up, so phone the shop (503-445-2699) to reserve your spot as soon as you can! Dress for the weather! And, please, no pets!
We encourage binoculars. If you don’t own a pair, we invite you to come see our selection, especially suitable for bird watching!
