Green Neighbors Program

The Clark County Green Neighbors Program was developed and is maintained by Clark County Solid Waste and Environmental Outreach to assist citizens with developing more sustainable lifestyles and building a strong environmental community in Clark County. Solid waste regional planning and programs are a cooperative effort of Battle Ground, Camas, Clark County, La Center, Ridgefield, Vancouver, Washougal, and Yacolt. Funding for this project provided by a grant from the Washington State Department of Ecology.

MG On the Road Tour: Secret Treasures

We all like Secret Treasures! This tour will introduce you to three unusual places that will help you to enhance your home garden.

Hydrangeas Plus/Amethyst Hill Nursery, a wholesale nursery, has one of the most extensive selections of hydrangea varieties available in the Northwest boasting over 150 types. They also offer azaleas and ornamental shrubs. We will learn about the art of growing and pruning hydrangeas.

Next we head to the Garden Galley Iron Works where they offer a large selection of handmade garden iron, as well as ceramic tile, Haitian art and farmhouse style décor.

The last stop is the Secret Garden Nursery. At the end of a long driveway, you will discover a magical country nursery where unusual perennials, ornamental grasses and other delectable plant treasures are grown.

Shopping is available at all three locations.

The tour will meet for van transportation at Enterprise Rent-A-Car, which is located at 9319 NE Hwy 99, Hazel Dell, Washington.

Cost: $30

Lunch: Box lunch from Fir Point Farm at the Garden Gallery Iron Works. Cost $10 – incl. bottled water, coffee and a treat. PLEASE BRING CASH.
