VOLUNTEER - Friends of Trees Crew Leader Training

Saturday, November 10, 2018, 09:00am - 04:00pm
Contact  360-487-7130
Friends of Trees Crew Leaders are trained volunteer leads who are responsible for leading small groups of volunteers during their Saturday planting events in Vancouver, Clark County, and beyond!

Crew Leaders demonstrate how to plant trees properly while maintaining a fun, safe, and educational environment at planting events. This is a dynamic and social leadership role best suited for people wanting to learn more about tree health, get their hands dirty outdoors, and gain or improve their group leadership skills. As a Crew Leader, you have the opportunity to make a positive impact on our natural environment and the communities we work with!

New Crew Leaders attend a training Saturday, November 3rd (Portland) or 10th (Vancouver) to learn hands-on proper tree planting technique and how to guide volunteers during planting events. The training starts at 9am, followed by a lunch at noon and the planting event from 12:30 to 4 (plan on attending both the training and the planting). Then, during planting season, newly-minted Crew Leaders co-lead small groups of planters at three or more Friends of Trees' Saturday morning plantings. Sign up to train as a Crew Leader and read more here. If you are wanting more information about volunteering as a Crew Leader or have questions, contact Friends of Trees at volunteer@friendsoftrees.org or 503-595-0213.
