VOLUNTEER - Tree Pruning Workshop

Wednesday, April 17, 2019, 01:00pm - 03:00pm
Contact  (360) 487-8308

Learn how to properly and safely cut live branches, preserving the tree's health, keeping the public safe, minimizing the need for costly future maintenance, and enhancing the appeal of your home and neighborhood.

This hands-on workshop will teach volunteers an introduction to shade tree pruning, such as how to make correct pruning cuts and identify and correct structural defects in young trees. Volunteers will prune young trees in the Meadow Homes neighborhood, reducing potential future maintenance issues and helping ensure the trees reach their fullest potential.

Please arrive early at approximately 2309 General Anderson Avenue to sign in. Gloves, tools, and light snacks will be provided. Feel free to bring your favorite pair of bypass pruners, bypass loppers, a pole saw, pole pruner, or handsaw. Apply what you learn to the street or yard trees at your home while coming together as neighbors to care for our community's publicly-owned green infrastructure.

Interested in learning how to bring more tree events to your neighborhood?. Sign up for the free seven-session training in May 2019!
