Wolverine Tracking - Classroom

Tuesday, November 14, 2017, 06:30pm - 08:30pm

Interested in the animals that live on Mt Hood?  Love to snowshoe?  Want to learn to read the landscape and the footprints left behind in the snow?

Volunteer with the Wolverine Tracking Project and learn animal tracking skills while helping carry out snow tracking surveys for rare carnivores on Mt Hood. We are searching for evidence of wolverine, montane red fox, and wolves to help better protect these species.

Trainings take place in November, and there are 5 sets of training dates to choose from: Nov 2&4, Nov 8&12, Nov 14&18, Nov 20&26, and Nov 28&Dec 2. The training provides a thorough introduction to animal tracking, as well as information about the survey process. Survey trips take place most weekends mid December through March and you can help out on as many survey trips as you like.

SEASON COST: $65
