On Thursday, February 22, the Clark County community gathered at Vancouver's historic Kiggins Theater to honor the winners of the annual Green Awards.
Five Tinnies stood facing the screen, waiting to reveal themselves to the winners of the annual Clark County Green Awards. From their bocce ball heads to the mismatched washers of their elbow joints, the Tinnies were pieced together with salvaged materials by local resident and artist, Joe Clifton. You can see more of Joe Clifton's work at the Recycled Arts Festival this spring.
While the Tinnies waited on stage, the audience heard from Susie Snortum about her food recovery program, Waste Not Food Taxi. The crowd was inspired by how one person can start a community movement.
Temple Lentz kept the energy going throughout the evening as Clark County Councilor Julie Olson presented the awards to two businesses, a teacher, and two volunteers who have shown outstanding work towards environmentally sustainable initiatives.

Clark County is proud of the amazing work that so many are doing to help the environment. These winners are just a few of the many devoted, passionate members of our community. Thank you to everyone who came out for the Green Gala or nominated someone for an award. As a community, we can do great things!
