Last-Minute Holiday Shopping Done Right

coupon-example

The holidays mean gift-giving, and we all want to think of the best presents for each of our loved ones. Sometimes, though, even the best of us wait until the last minute – leading to a panicked scramble for the closest thing we can find. Often in those final shopping days we purchase what's easy, and resort to buying cheap or low-quality products.

This year, shop thoughtfully! There are other options besides disposable gifts.

Shop Local: Instead of rushing into a major chain, consider the other local places near you that will sell the product you're looking for. You will keep your money local, decrease your carbon footprint, and support local businesses.

Buy Durable and Repairable: It's easy to buy lots of cheap, disposable items to wrap up. However, these items usually end up in the landfill, and are often packaged with lots of plastic. If you're buying new gifts, purchase ones that will last for years to come, and will be fixable if they ever break. The gift will last a long time, and it will keep more stuff out of the garbage.

Give Thoughtfully: What's easier than last-minute hectic shopping? Buying no stuff at all! Opt out of the mall lines and give your loved ones an experience. You can give movie or concert tickets, park passes, or even donate to their favorite charity. Learn more ideas by checking out our Gift Guide. Even better, download our fillable Holiday Coupons and give whatever you choose! Fill in your coupon with a picnic, night out, or favor on you. Experience gifts give memories that last forever – so ditch the frantic holiday shopping and give what really matters this year!
