Hello , Hope everyone is able to find a silver lining with our gray skies and wet weather! It is certainly a 180° from our record breaking 115°F start to summer last year. We've been busy sprucing up the Natural Gardens at Pacific Community Park and prepping for the Natural Garden Tour on Sunday, July 17, 10 am - 4 pm. Join our team! Clark County Green Neighbors is seeking AmeriCorps applicants for Fall 2022!
The Clark County Green Neighbors program provides tools and resources for residents to build sustainable habits that also benefits the environment. Priority education topics include recycling contamination, household hazardous waste and food waste prevention.

Workshops & SPEAKERS

10 am - 12 pm, Saturday, June 25
Do you have a favorite plant that you wish you had more of? Many plants can be easily propagated with basic techniques and materials. Join Master Gardener Christine Anderson for an in-person workshop on how to propagate fuchsias, hydrangeas and many other great perennials and woody plants.
Bring a lawn chair and your work clothes. Participants are asked to provide 45 minutes of service in the East Vancouver demonstration garden following the one-hour workshop. Bring gloves and water and dress for the weather. This event is put on in conjunction with Clark County Public Health – Solid Waste Outreach, Green Neighbors Program. Space is limited.

Outdoor Activities & WILDLIFE

As the summer sun sets, wildlife begins to move. Some gather a last meal before resting, while others begin their nightly explorations for food and water. Join a Water Center educator to explore the edges of the water in search of the wildlife calling the wetlands home.

HEALTHY FAMILIES: swim beach monitoring
The Clark County Public Health Swim Beach Monitoring Program protects public health by providing timely and accessible information on water quality (E.coli and algal toxins) at selected designated swimming beaches and other natural waterbodies.
We work with lake managers and parks departments to post signs during unsafe conditions to notify users and provide recommendations for recreation.
Weekly newsletters are issued during the summer with the latest advisories and information on how to protect yourself and family from potentially hazardous conditions.
