| PEAK FALL MIGRATION IS SEPTEMBER 19 - OCTOBER 19
| Twice a year, millions of birds migrate across North America. When birds migrate, they use the moon and the stars to help guide them to their destination. When artificial light glows over cities, birds can become confused and get drawn down towards the lighting. That can throw their course off and even cause injury or death if they accidentally strike buildings or other objects. Reducing unnecessary night lighting during peak migration can help protect bird populations. As an added bonus, you can also save money and reduce your carbon footprint!
