Green Neighbors Program

The Clark County Green Neighbors Program was developed and is maintained by Clark County Solid Waste and Environmental Outreach to assist citizens with developing more sustainable lifestyles and building a strong environmental community in Clark County. Solid waste regional planning and programs are a cooperative effort of Battle Ground, Camas, Clark County, La Center, Ridgefield, Vancouver, Washougal, and Yacolt. Funding for this project provided by a grant from the Washington State Department of Ecology.

Reading in the Wild - Story Time with Nature

Story Time & Nature Series

The City of Vancouver’s Water Resources Education Center offers a free, outdoor story time series for kids, from 3 to 6 years old. Starting July 14, join us in July and August for outdoor reading adventures that connect fun stories with nature activities.

10-11 a.m., Thursdays

July: 14, 21, 28

August: 4, 11, 18, 25

We read, and your little ones explore! Sit under a tree, listen to a story, then roam around our garden to play with plants, rocks, water or critters in the dirt.

Please note: Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian during these activities.
