April 2025 ‍

Hello Visitor,

It's finally here! Food Waste Prevention Week starts next week and we can't wait for you to join us at our two upcoming events:

Food Waste Trivia Night- from 7-9pm on April 8 at Fortside Brewing in Vancouver

Scrappy Cooking- from 6-7:30pm on April 9 at Cascade Park Library

Both events will have prizes and lots of fun tips to help you save money and reduce food waste. Registration is encouraged. We hope to see you there! If you can't make it out, be sure to stay connected on social media and share our posts about food waste prevention with your friends, family, and co-workers.

April is also Earth Month and there are several events and volunteer opportunities in our community to help you celebrate our planet and the precious resources it provides us with. On Earth Day (April 22), the Watershed Alliance Film Series will be presenting Water for Life. More details about the film series can be found below. Please register in advance if you plan to attend. We hope to see you there!

Best wishes,

The Green Neighbors Team

This year we are are excited to once again expand our knowledge of cooking with leftovers with Stacey Tigner-Loy of the Washington State University Clark County Extension SNAP-Ed program.

Join us on Wednesday April 9, from 6-7:30pm to learn how you can make the most out of the food you buy.

Win prizes and take home supplies to make your fridge and pantry sustainable; these materials can help turn your kitchen into the perfect environment to save money and prevent food waste!

Protect your local stream, help prevent local flooding and inspire stewardship in your neighborhood! Adopt-a-Drain WA is now in Clark County and we're looking for some residents to be our first adopters.

It's easy as 1-2-3:
1. Sign up online at https://wa.adopt-a-drain.org/
2. Keep your storm drain clear
3. Track your impact

You'll get a yard sign AND get to name your drain!

Do you want to jumpstart your knowledge of composting, recycling, green cleaning and sustainable lifestyle habits? The Clark County Composter Recycler program is offering free in-person and virtual spring workshops.
