Green Neighbors Program

The Clark County Green Neighbors Program is coordinated by Clark County Public Health’s Solid Waste and Environmental Outreach to assist citizens with developing more sustainable lifestyles and building a strong environmental community in Clark County. Solid waste regional planning and programs are a cooperative effort of Battle Ground, Camas, Clark County, La Center, Ridgefield, Vancouver, Washougal, and Yacolt.

Luminarias Dia De Muertos

    Please join us at Esther Short Park for a Day of the Dead ancestral celebration to remember and honor those who have departed. Día de Muertos is truly a celebration of life, love and healing.

    Experience beautiful luminarias, traditional Mexican dancing, music, guest artists, catrinas and an ofrenda of the beloved deceased. This free, family-friendly event will take place rain or shine.

    En colaboración con la Ciudad de Vancouver, le invitamos a que nos acompañe en nuestro evento cultural y anual de Día de Muertos que se llevará a cabo nuevamente en Esther Short Park. El Día de Muertos es en realidad una celebración de conexión espiritual para todos. Disfrute de bailes tradicionales de México, hermosas luminarias, artistas invitados, catrinas y actividades relevantes para la familia. Se le invita a pasar la tarde con nosotros celebrando a la familia y honrando a nuestros ancestros por medio de coloridas instalaciones de arte.

    Camas Boo Bash 2024

    Bring the whole family down for some Downtown Camas trick or treating, Wednesday, October 23rd, 2024 from 3-5pm. Local businesses give out candy or neat Halloween prizes to all the kiddos. Seeing all the kids (and many parents, too!) dressed in costume is exceptionally fun. Always a few surprises as well! Come and enjoy your community! RAIN OR SHINE, WE WILL SEE YOU THERE! 

    4th Avenue from Adams to Franklin and side streets from 3rd to 5th will be closed for the event to ensure children’s safety. Please no bikes, skateboards, or scooters. Parents please provide supervision when crossing streets.

    Circle of Life Chum Salmon Celebration

    It’s chum salmon season! On December 7th, welcome our returning salmon home at this family-friendly event hosted by the Wood & Gordon families.

    Drop in when it works for you between 2pm-4pm! We will feature a couple of speakers at 3pm.

    Park and meet us in the Columbia Springs parking lot at 2:00pm to walk as a group to the spawning site. OR park along Old Evergreen Highway at Riverwood Lane (at least 10 feet away from the train tracks) and walk in on your own! Please contact us at kristine@columbiasprings.org if you are in need of parking accommodations closer to the event.

    We recommend that you bring polarized sunglasses and binoculars to maximize your viewing experience. This event is outside so dress for the weather, including rain gear, if the forecast calls for it.
