Green Neighbors Program

The Clark County Green Neighbors Program is coordinated by Clark County Public Health’s Solid Waste and Environmental Outreach to assist citizens with developing more sustainable lifestyles and building a strong environmental community in Clark County. Solid waste regional planning and programs are a cooperative effort of Battle Ground, Camas, Clark County, La Center, Ridgefield, Vancouver, Washougal, and Yacolt.

Wintler Park Beach Cleanup

Wednesday, November 30 9:30 am - 11:30 am

Join us during our final beach cleanup of the year at Wintler Community Park. Rivers are on the rise, and we hope to remove as much litter from the beach before the water takes it downstream.

Advance registration is required. Event is limited to 12 participants. Gloves, litter bags and hand sanitizer will be provided. You will receive a confirmation letter with full volunteer event details and meeting location after registration.

Stream Health Monitoring - Site Visit

Wednesday, November 30 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm

Come learn about how to monitor stream health to help protect our watersheds in SW Washington.

Water quality and natural resource specialist, Benjamin Joner, of Clark County Public Health will demonstrate and discuss water quality monitoring techniques on-site at Mill Creek, near WSU-Vancouver in Vancouver, WA. We will discuss what to look for when determining if a waterway health and ways to improve water quality. There will be a short (less than 1/2 mile) hike from the parking lot down to the creek.

Native Plant Sale

The Clark Conservation District plant sale is officially opening November 30th at 4pm!!! We are just putting the finishing touches on our website interface and finalizing our plant inventories so that the sale can proceed as smoothly as possible. Once a plant is sold out we will not be restocking this year, so make sure to mark your calendars and get ready!
