Green Neighbors Program

The Clark County Green Neighbors Program was developed and is maintained by Clark County Solid Waste and Environmental Outreach to assist citizens with developing more sustainable lifestyles and building a strong environmental community in Clark County. Solid waste regional planning and programs are a cooperative effort of Battle Ground, Camas, Clark County, La Center, Ridgefield, Vancouver, Washougal, and Yacolt. Funding for this project provided by a grant from the Washington State Department of Ecology.

Clark Green Neighbors event calendar

Tree Tour Harney Heights

Meet your neighbors and celebrate the historic trees of Harney Heights, from towering conifers to stately street trees. Arrive prior to 9:00 to fuel up on light breakfast refreshments and mingle with neighbors. Participants will receive a map with the route, trees of interest, and tree information for self-guiding.

The loop will be about 3 miles following paved surfaces with some steep segments and will start and end at St. Helens Park, with the group embarking at 9:00. All ages and abilities welcome, including families and pets. A representative from Urban Forestry will be in attendance to lead the walk and answer questions. Neighborhood leaders and long-time residents will speak about the history of the trees and the great sense of place they contribute to the neighborhood.
