Clark County Public Health and Waste Connections are partnering with local organizations to reduce the amount of food waste going to the landfill. The We Compost pilot program offers several Community Hub locations across Clark County; these hubs offer free and convenient food waste disposal for all residents!

The food waste drop-off locations are particularly beneficial for residents with limited access to composting services, such as those living in apartments and condos, or living outside of residential curbside organics service areas.

At the community hub locations food waste will be deposited into green food waste carts. These carts are serviced weekly by Waste Connections of Washington. The food waste is then transported to our commercial compost facility Dirt Hugger in Dallesport, WA. After just a few short months your food scraps will be transformed into nutrient rich compost, ensuring that all of the nutrients in this waste is cycled back into the soil.
