Green Neighbors Program

The Clark County Green Neighbors Program is coordinated by Clark County Public Health’s Solid Waste and Environmental Outreach to assist citizens with developing more sustainable lifestyles and building a strong environmental community in Clark County. Solid waste regional planning and programs are a cooperative effort of Battle Ground, Camas, Clark County, La Center, Ridgefield, Vancouver, Washougal, and Yacolt.

Composting Field Training at CASEE Center

Join volunteers to work at the CASEE demo site, located at 11104 NE 149th St., Brush Prairie, WA 98606. 

Composting Field Instruction includes:

  • Weed identification
  • Types of composting systems
  • How to build a hot compost pile
  • How to turn a compost pile
  • How to use compost
  • How to make a lasagna garden

Please be sure to dress for the weather (wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty and sturdy work boots), bring garden gloves, snacks/water.

Learn how to make three versatile household green cleaners and see how fun and safe cleaning can be. This is an in-person workshop. (Participants are eligible for a green clean kit at no cost).

Go through the gate and there will be parking on your left.  Our meeting room is in the building on your right. Enter through the door on the north side of the building. For safety reasons, do not go past the parking lot/building without high visibility personal protective equipment.

Learn how to be an expert recycler. Understand why only certain items can go into your Blue recycle cart and glass bin. When in doubt throw it out.Join via Zoom.

Our partners at the Washington State University Clark County Extension will teach this workshop and provide a cooking demonstration.
