Hydroponic Gardening Made Easy - Learn and Serve Workshop
Think hydroponics is too complicated and expensive? What if you could grow crops ranging from lettuce to peppers, squash and tomatoes without the electricity, pumps or pipes required by most hydroponic systems? The Kratky Method is basically a plant suspended over a bucket of nutrient solution that gradually converts the solution into a gorgeous root ball and clean produce using a tiny fraction of the water and space needed for soil-based gardening. So, stop watering your plants and plant them in water instead! Join us for a demonstration of this amazing gardening system and take home a Kratky-grown lettuce plant. Saturday, June 28 from 10am to noon. Location: East Vancouver. Specific location provided upon registration. Register here. Free. Following the workshop, attendees will be asked to provide 45 minutes of service in the demonstration garden. Bring water and dress for the weather. This workshop is put on in collaboration with Clark County Public Works Green Neighbors Program. Contact: erika.d.johnson@wsu.edu / 564-397-5738.
