Plant Information
Culture:
This non-climbing clematis is a bushy plant that forms leafy mounds. Grow this in full sun and cool, moist soil that never dries out. A spring mulch will keep the root zone cool.
Noteworthy Characteristics:
The small, blue, fragrant, tubular flowers appear in late summer and grow in clusters at the tips of the stems. The fluffy seedheads follow the flowers and are an added attraction.
Problems:
This plant sprawls and will need staking or other support. Leaf-eating insects may disfigure larger leaves. Toxic to dogs, cats, and horses
