Virtual Events and Activities on the Green Neighbors Calendar… and Beyond
Most of us are eagerly looking forward to when we can gather in groups again and attend events that interest us. For now, life is concentrated at home but that doesn't mean your mind can't roam beyond the walls of your house. Many green events are moving online during this time of social distancing. From live streams of scientists in the field to eco film festivals and sustainability webinars, there is no shortage of virtual events on the Green Neighbors calendar. We've made a new virtual events filter on our calendar to help you find virtual environmental events to keep you connected with the outdoors while staying safe at home.
Our physical health and that of our families and friends is the most important thing right now, but with all of the uncertainty and new challenges we are facing mental health is extremely important as well. Right now it's essential to stay positive and have things to look forward to. We hope some of the virtual events on our calendar can provide you and your family with an inspiring experience.
Celebrate Earth Week!
Want to help celebrate the 50th anniversary of Earth Day? This year's theme is climate action, and although our local events are cancelled, that doesn't mean Earth day is shelved. We have put together some challenges that you can do in your home, backyard, and neighborhood to help you learn more about our earth and why it's so important to protect it. You will get to identify animal species, learn to read your electric meter to decrease energy consumption, take a tree tour, and more! Best of all, these challenges are in the form of Bingo and you can win prizes!
Download the bingo card, complete any five challenges and send a description of what you did to info@clarkgreenneighbors.org by April 30th to be entered in the prize drawing.

While we can never hope to replicate the theatrical experience of a Banff screening in your home town surrounded by friends, we can still provide these award-winning films to help provide adventure and inspiration. These films were all finalists in the 2019 and 2018 festival in Banff, Alberta.

The 28th annual D.C. Environmental Film Festival will hold a "virtual" festival after canceling all public screenings due to coronavirus concerns. The Environmental Film Festival in the Nation's Capital (DCEFF) is the world's premier showcase of environmentally themed films. Since 1993, our mission has been to celebrate Earth and inspire understanding and stewardship of the environment through the power of film. Each March in Washington, D.C., we host the largest environmental film festival in the world, presenting 100+ films to audiences of more than 20,000.
