MLK Day of Service: Volunteer at Pacific Park!

cover-photo-MLK-day

Make it a Day ON, Not a Day Off!

Each year, the nation comes together to honor Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., with a day of service. Some organize their own volunteer outing while others join in on established events, and spend the day working for their community. The Day of Service was designated in 1994, and assigned to be led by the Corporation for National and Community Service, who state in their website, "MLK Day of Service is intended to empower individuals, strengthen communities, bridge barriers, create solutions to social problems, and move us closer to Dr. King's vision of a 'Beloved Community.'"

This year, join Green Neighbors for your volunteering efforts! There will be a work day at Pacific Park Demonstration Gardens, where people of all ages are invited to weed, prune, plant, and cut; rain or shine. Tools, gloves, and supplies plus warm drinks and snacks will be provided. We hope to see you there!

Pacific Park Community Gardens are located on NE 18th St and NE 172nd Ave in Vancouver, WA.
