Green Neighbors Program

The Clark County Green Neighbors Program is coordinated by Clark County Public Health’s Solid Waste and Environmental Outreach to assist citizens with developing more sustainable lifestyles and building a strong environmental community in Clark County. Solid waste regional planning and programs are a cooperative effort of Battle Ground, Camas, Clark County, La Center, Ridgefield, Vancouver, Washougal, and Yacolt.

9/11 Day of Remembrance Service Event

For months following September 11, 2001, people came together to grieve family, friends and strangers lost in the terrorist attacks in New York and Pennsylvania. More than 20 years later, we still do. Sometimes called “Patriots Day” or “Day of Remembrance”, September 11 has become an annual day for many Americans to remember, reflect, honor, and mourn.

Joining WSU Extension Clark County Master Gardeners for a day of service to the community and help spiff up the Natural Demonstration Garden at Pacific Park. 

Tuesday, September 10th from 9am to noon.  We’ll start with a brief tour of the recent design updates and then get to work on tasks including weeding, clean-up and whatever else is needed. Tools and gloves will be available - dress for the weather and bring water. Explore the incredible diversity of tomatoes with a taste testing of numerous varieties and hear insights from local farmers. Don't miss this flavorful journey into one of our favorite fruits.

Eat Drink & Be Local are gatherings that provide an opportunity for people in Clark County who are interested in local food to get together in an informal setting to relax, enjoy each other’s company and network! Everyone who is interested in the local food system is welcome. No-Host food and drink. $5 suggested donation.

Watershed Alliance of SW WA Ridgefield Waterfront Cleanup- September 14th

Saturday, September 14 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Volunteer litter cleanup along Lake River at Ridgefield Waterfront – Boat Ramp, 5 Mill St, Ridgefield, WA 98642

What to bring: Please wear closed-toed shoes and dress for the weather. Please bring your own snacks and water.

Translation: A Spanish translator will not be available at this event.

Please Note: A portion of this cleanup will be along the edge of Lake River, this area can be slippery and muddy with unstable rocks. This may not be appropriate for all ages and abilities. If you are able and interested in cleaning up along the edge of Lake River please wear waterproof shoes/boots or waders.

The remaining areas for the cleanup are more appropriate for all ages. This will be along the paved trails and maintained areas at the Ridgefield Waterfront.

Tal vez esa área no sea apropiada para todas las edades y habilidades, pero las áreas restantes si son apropiadas para todas las edades para realizar la limpieza. Estas otras áreas son a lo largo de los senderos pavimentados y las áreas que reciben mantenimiento en Ridgefield Waterfront.
